COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST – JOB DESCRIPTION

TIME COMMITMENT: 60 hours per month (roughly 15 hours per week depending on projects)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Report to and take direction from the Secretary of the Board of Directors and or Executive Director.

·         Develop written content for press releases and media advisories in advance of programs and delegation visits.

·         Develop written and visual content for “MCEP Monthly” English language newsletter, arrange lay out, and oversee distribution to newsletter list; develop a Chinese-language version of the newsletter twice annually, arrange lay out, and oversee distribution to newsletter list

·         Update written materials for delegation trips in advance of trips or on at least a quarterly basis

·         Develop written and visual web content for www.macombchinapartnership.com as well as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts

·         Prepare and develop other written documents and statements as needed

 

·         This position is considered at-will.

 

SKILLS:  A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Act, & Adobe Acrobat are preferred

SALARY:  $14 to $20 hourly rate, depending on qualifications and experience.

ADMINISTRATOR – JOB DESCRIPTION

TIME COMMITMENT: 40 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Report to and take direction from the Secretary of the Board of Directors and or the Executive Director.

·         Maintain an updated list of press contacts for local, state, and regional media outlets including print, TV, radio, and online/ blog

·         Recruitment, support, and managing of Host and Advisor families, including keeping up-to-date records on availability, securing commitments one month prior to student visits, and arranging for at least two “back up” families.

·         Facilitating invitation of visiting groups including developing letters of invitation, understanding the law and process for obtaining visas, maintaining relationships with agency and congressional offices, and working with visitors on visa issues.

·         Working with a team to develop all program schedules at least one month ahead of arrival including working with others to develop programs, managing changes to schedules, preparing welcome packets for visiting delegations, maintaining records of delegations, and ensuring thank you and follow-up communication is sent in a timely fashion

·         Maintaining record of gift distribution and gift inventory including student t-shirts, for incoming and outgoing delegations

·         Maintaining written and electronic record of all trip participants, both incoming and outgoing, including biographies of visitors and participants in trips abroad.

·         Organizing and maintain records of visiting delegations and sister city/ school agreements.

·         Maintaining master list of organization programs, activities, and accomplishments

·         Maintaining database of contacts

·         Maintain updated and sufficient amounts of informational/ promotional materials

 

·         This position is considered at-will.

SALARY:  $30,000 to $40,000 depending on experience.
